We are pleased to invite you and your colleagues to our annual Fall Workshop “Enhancement of
Chilean Fresh Fruit Trade Operations”. The workshop will include a variety of relevant discussions
surrounding new issues and regulations related to the import of Chilean fruit into the ports along the
Delaware River. Our panel of specialists will discuss the USFDA’s workplan and initiatives expected in
the coming year. The presentations will include fumigation and cold treatments, updatedfood security
information, guidelines for regulating wood packing material in international trade, FDA import
operations and new initiatives. One of our USFDA panelists will present a new food defense initiative
called “ALERT”. This new initiative will highlight what the fresh produce industry can do to assure
safety of the foods you produce, manufacture, transport, warehouse, distribute and sell.
